Singing in the Rain

Happy Friday friends.  The weekend is finally here ... yeah!  The sun is shining here today and it's gorgeous.  It's still chilly and windy, but the sun is so welcome.  It's been a while since we've seen the sun around here.

It looks like this little birdie may not be seeing the sun today.  Isn't she a cutie?  I used Spring Bird Umbrella from Bugaboo Stamps.  She's colored with copics and colored pencils.  I used some Glossy Accents on her beak and the raindrops, and added a gingham bow.  I'll add a sentiment to the inside later and send this to the Card Cupids organization.

Simply Sassy Notes

Hello friends.  I hope you're having an awesome day.  We're halfway to the weekend now ... yeah!

I've used one of the images from the latest Simply Sassy release.  Rather than making a card, I decided to make a little notepad holder.  I always keep notepads sitting around to jot things down.  Seems like I have to write notes to myself all the time or I never remember anything lol!  And why have a boring old notepad when you can have a pretty one?  I used Carnival Balloon for my notepad holder today.  Isn't she adorable?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils.  I used some stickles on the flowers in her hair, and on the hearts on the balloon, her dress, and her shoe.  I stitched my image to some BoBunny papers and then adhered it my notepad holder.  I'm sure you've seen these holders all over blogland but in case you haven't, I'll share how I made mine.

My notepad is 3" x 5" and I cut my cardstock to 5 1/4" x 8 1/2".  If you're going to carry your notepad in your purse, you'll want to use the heaviest cardstock you can find.  Score the cardstock at 3/4", 4", 4 3/8" and 7 5/8".  Fold the two outer edges to the inside and adhere.  The back of my notepad is cardboard.  I applied adhesive to that cardboard and adhered it inside the holder.  I used Scor-pal adhesive because it's really strong.  I know that Christmas is a long way off but wouldn't these make great stocking stuffers?  Or great little gifts for your children's teachers?  They're easy peasy so give them a try.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You

Hello peeps!  I've got another card to share with you today.  I  made this card to send to Card Cupids.  Have you heard of this wonderful organization?  Their mission is to send cards to children who are facing difficult times in their young lives.  It's such a worthy cause and wouldn't you love to help make these children feel special?  Please check out their blog here.

I used Teddy Bear with Flower from The Paper Shelter.  Isn't he a cutie?  I colored him with copics and colored pencils and then paper-pieced the flower.  I  used just a touch of stickles on the flower center, and added some Glossy Accents to his nose and the pads of his feet.  I added some ribbon, a bow and a button and that's all.  This was very fast and easy ... my kind of card lol!

TLT Blog Hop

Happy Tuesday friends!  Are you ready for some fun?  It's Totally Ladybug Tuesday and this week the ladybugs are celebrating with a Blog Hop.  Kerry has a new set of stamps and wait until you see them!  You should have arrived here from Pinky's blog.  If you didn't you can go to the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to find the correct order.

There are four new sets and I've used Ruffle Shoe set. Aren't these shoes and purse gorgeous? I used copics and colored pencils to color them and then added some Stardust stickles to the flowers on the shoes. I added some tiny little pearls to the purse. I stitched around my image and added some candy dots. I made a little flower rosette by gathering some ribbon and put a pearl brad in the middle of the rosette. What I wouldn't have given for a pair of shoes like this back in the day (sigh).  Since I wouldn't be able to walk in shoes like this without breaking my neck, I'll just have to be content with having these shoes on a stamp, rather than in my closet, lol.  Be sure to check out the inside of my card too.  All the new stamp sets come with fabulous sentiments!

Here's what you'll need to do to play along in the hop:

- Visit each DT member's blog and leave a comment

- Leave a comment on the Challenge Blog once you have finished the hop

- Display the blog hop banner either in a post or on your sidebar

Check out the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to find out all the prizes you can win. The hop closes 12 noon GMT on Monday, May 2, and the winners will be announced at 9am GMT on Tuesday, May 3. And if you don't win a prize, you can still enjoy the stamps at a discount price until May 2. You can check out the latest release and the rest of the fabulous Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps here.

Now, the next stop on the hop is Kerry.  So hop on over and check out her beautiful work.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

The Easter Bear?

Hello friends and happy Saturday.  I hope you're having better weather than I am.  It's raining and the sun is nowhere to be seen.  Yuck.  I really wish Spring would get here.  I am sooo ready for some warmer weather.  But, hey, at least it's the weekend, right?

Well, I finally finished my grandson's Easter card.  Just in the nick of time, huh?  It has the traditional Easter bunny ... wait a minute, that's not a bunny ... that's an Easter bear!  And a very cute one, if I do say so myself.  I have been seeing cards made with Teddy Bo stamps and decided I needed to order a few for myself.  I fell in love with this little cutie and wanted to use him on little Zack's card.  The image is named Easter Bunny Bo.  If you've never seen this line of stamps, you can check them out here.  Just don't blame me if you spend way too much money over there lol.  Anyway, I colored this fella with copics and prismacolor pencils.  I added some Glossy Accents to his nose and the pads of his feet and cut him out with my nestabilities.  I used my Sizzix Build a Bear embossing folder for the cardstock and added a ribbon and a little tag.  I kept my card very simple because let's be honest ... Zack is going to be far more interested in the Easter basket I made him than he is this little old card lol.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter.  Thank you for stopping by!

Meljen's Designs Challenge #55

Hello friends.  It's Thursday so that means we have a new challenge over at the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog.  This week our challenge is to make a masculine card.

I used Army Bear on my card.  Isn't this little bear adorable?  I colored him with copics and colored pencils.  I've had these alphabet brads forever and finally found the perfect use for them.  I then added some twine and a button.  I really struggle with cards for men.  It's so hard for me not to be able to embellish with flowers and glitter, but I have to say I like the way this card turned out.

Here's the latest Meljen's Designs release.  You can find these adorable bears and all the other fabulous Meljen's Designs images at Whimsy Stamps.  Please stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog to see the fantastic cards the DT created with these little male bears.  I hope you can play along in our challenge this week.

Simply Rapunzel

Hello friends!  I hope you've had a wonderful week so far.  I have a new Simply Sassy to share with you today.

This is Rapunzel.  Isn't she a beauty?  She was a blast to color, especially with that long, luscious hair.  Her hair reminds me of my high school days.  I had long, thick hair with some natural waves in it.  Of course, I did everything under the sun to make it as straight as a stick lol!  OK, enough blabbering.  I colored this cutie with copics and colored pencils.  I distressed the edge of my papers and added some lace and a ribbon.  I made a rosette using my lace an added a little prima flower.  Some pearls and a butterfly finish off my card.  Have you noticed I've been using my new My Mind's Eye papers, instead of hoarding them?  That's a big step for me lol!

You can find Rapunzel and all the other sassy girls over at Funky Kits.  If you would like to see some beautiful designs using these stamps, go check out the Simply Sassy Blog.

Happy Wednesday everyone.  I've got a quick post for you this morning and then I've got a major event I'm attending today.  It's by invitation only.  That's right ... this morning I'm attending the Grandparent's Day event at my grandson's preschool lol!  That's always a blast.  The kids practice songs and a little skit for weeks and then promptly forget what they're suppose to do when they have a live audience lol!  They're so cute at this age, you know?  Anyway, I've got an Easter card to share with you.

I used Easter Bunny Tulips from Bugaboo Stamps.  Isn't this little bunny adorable?  I used my copics and colored pencils to color this little cutie.  I added some Glossy Accents on her nose and some stickles on her heart and the tulips.  The papers are from my stash.  I added some gingham ribbon and a bow, and a few buttons.  The tag is from a Martha Stewart punch.

Amber Ink

Hello friends.  I have an Amber Ink card to share with you.  This is my last project as the Orange Amber Ink Torchbearer.  It's been such a fun month, and an honor to carry the torch!

I used Saying - I Think You're A Fungi for my card.  Don't you just love this image and sentiment?  I tell you, that Amber has a great sense of humour!  I used copics and colored pencils to color the image.  I added some twine and a button, and then used a Tim Holtz ticket to finish it off.  I used Linen Closet papers from DCWV ... hope they're not too girly but I really like these papers and seldom get to use them.  Anyway, if I give to this to my hubby, he won't care whether the paper has flowers.  Hey, at least I resisted the urge to add glitter to the hearts lol!

Thank you for stopping by.  Please stop by tomorrow as I'll have another card to share with you.

I used Witches Cauldron today.  Isn't she a beautiful little witch?  As soon as I saw her I was anxious to get her colored.  You see, my daughter's birthday is on Halloween so I love decorating and making cards for Halloween.  I used copics and colored pencils to color this cutie and added some Glamour Dust to her buttons and the heart on her hat.  I added a little spider charm to the bow.  My layout is Maria Therese's sketch from over at The Sugar Bowl.  Have you entered the challenge over at The Sugar Bowl yet?  There's still time to enter the challenge and ... guess what the prize is?  All 6 of the new Simply Sassy stamps plus some Spellbinders!  I hope you find some time to play along with them.

Now, is this a stamp you can only use at Halloween? No way! You can use this stamp year round ... just check out the inside of my card. Hmm, I think I'll probably be giving this to my hubby the next time I'm "a little witch" lol!

A Little Birthday Bunny

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm so glad the weekend is finally here.  We've had a lot going on this week and I'm ready to kick back and relax.  How about you?

I made a birthday card for a friend's granddaughter using Cuddle Bun Birthday by Meljen's Designs.  Is this little bunny cute or what?  Since her birthday is just a few days before Easter I thought this little bunny with the cupcake would be perfect.  I colored the image with copics and colored pencils.  I used some stickles on the frosting and Glossy Accents on the pads of his feet.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch and added some ribbon and a bow.

Here's the latest Meljen's Designs release.  Be sure to stop by the Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog to see the awesome cards the DT created using these images.  While you're there you can also get all the details about the latest challenge.  You can find these images and all the other adorable Meljen's Designs images at Whimsy Stamps.
